We are still on for some fun in the sun. Please look for the postcard shown here for some pre-reunion fun. You can download this postcard print it off and take a photo of it somewhere unusual for a prize. The run down for the Picnic on next Saturday is the usual:

1. Bring drinks and a dish to share
2. Don't forget your photo of this postcard in an unusual place
3. We still need a few volunteers for set up and clean up

THE T-SHIRT


Well, it's chocolate brown and insignia of the Turk Zore reunion for 2008. We'll see how these sell to y'all. The price has changed due to a vendor increase.

$10.00 a shirt.

Sooo, it's been a couple months since we last updated the blog-busy times but we are ready to get down to business with the Family Reunion.

Here are the latest and greatest updates:

1. If you are in town on Friday, June 20 and want to help out with set up, please meet up with various family members at the NASH picnic grounds at 6:30 pm that evening. If you need directions please email: turkzorereunion@gmail.com

2. Remember to bring your favorite Slovenian/picnic dish and beverages to share with your family

3. Bring old photos, game ideas (we'll still have horse shoes, basketball, bot chi ball) but if you want to play board games or cards please bring them to the grounds.

4. Be prepared to share stories and good times.

5. Remember to sign up for our mailing list (e-mail and home address) so we can keep you informed for next year and upcoming years.

6. We will have t-shirts available-we will have a limited amount, so if you don't get a chance to buy one at the reunion, please give us your size and we can make arrangements to have more t-shirts made.

Family History

So where did the Turk and Zore families originate in Slovenia? We also have other Slovenian families like the Pushnurs and the Sebancs--if you have stories about how our family made there way to America and wound up in the mid west, please post your stories in the comments or send us an e-mail, we would love to share them with the everyone here on the blog or at the reunion on June 21st.

Knowledge is key for a complete family history, so please share what you know.

Revving up for the 2008 Turk and Zore Family Reunion

Welcome to the Turk and Zore Family reunion blog.

2008 promises to be a great year for the family reunion in June. We are in the process finalizing the details for the reunion. If you would like to help out, submit ideas or volunteer please contact me or send an e-mail to our gmail account: turkzorereunion@gmail.com

Here's what we have planned so far:

• T-shirts
  We know some of you gave placed an order but we are under the lowest required quantity of 36 shirts/cost will be $7.00 each. Deadline for shirt orders will be May 1st 2008. Please send an e-mail or contact Evelyn Collins. Please note if we get over the 36 quantity the cost will lower.
  
• Games--we have some games ready, but please contact us if there is anything you would like to play or change from the previous years to include an activity that you and your family will enjoy doing
  
• Ancestral Charts and Photos--please bring your stories and photos to help everyone update their family tree records
• Food--as done in the past please bring enough to share with your family members and others
• Iron Slovenian Chef--you probably won't have to cook it at the picnic grounds (unless it's hot dogs and burgers) but do bring your favorite Slovenian dish. This can included potica or any other Slovenian dish that you would love to make.

We will be sending emails once a month, to give updates, but if you would like to keep informed without receiving e-mails please subscribe to our rss feed or just check back on the blogsite address to see how preparation of the reunion is coming along.
